Popular Motor Sport Club Israel is a registered non-profit organization representing dozens of Subaru Turbo owners in Israel.
In doing so STI introduces a long tradition of similar owner clubs around the world. STI was founded in 2002 and has since been setting new standards for representation, organization and professionalism in the country. STI focuses on motor sport activities and education in meeting its main goals:
1. Improving driving competence
2. Organizing and conducting technical seminars and motor sport activities
3. Improving professional and responsible driving in the community
STI club is managed and operated voluntarily by its members. Since inception STI has already organized numerous events including advanced driving courses, trips to motor shows and other motor events both domestic and international, Rally work-shops and races abroad, enhanced driving courses for spouses, STI Go-Kart league, family events and of-course STI's traditional weekend meeting held every Friday in a Cafe Somewhere around the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.
To advance its goals & objectives STI has built special and individual oriented curriculum emphasizing high and progressive building of driving skills, responsiveness, alertness, and professionalism. In supporting STI goals special consideration is given to safety giving the varying road, infrastructure and weather conditions. Among others, STI curriculum also includes Rally courses Kart practices, and much more.
On the academic side, STI conducts numerous seminars to its club members. Lectures are conducted by both STI members and outside professionals and include topics such as driver environment, maintenance and dynamic components of the car.
STI events are covered by either the printed or electronic media. STI web site and forum had quickly become one of Israel's most popular vehicle-oriented web destinations.
Although STI has initially formed to organize Subaru Turbo owners, it is never-the-less open to everyone who identifies with its goals and objectives. No Subaru Turbo ownership is needed. Not even a driving license - we also have many events that do not require driving (but are still great fun!).
